It's restrictions are very real, no special summoning not only cuts off a major part of the game but also restricts hand emptying, so you have to do that without demise's help.

Also, I'm pretty sure Card of Sanctity allowed both players to draw until they had 6, a massive risk in the actual game. Card of Demise is a +4 for one player.

Anime Demise gives you immediate benefit while having almost no drawback at all (You just draw an entire new hand of 5.. Anime Demise just gives you free cards for a drawback that never comes. And the argument that everyone can use it so it's fair doesn't work out either. Look at Monster Reborn. Sure either side can use it but that doesn't.
